As summer comes to an end and we bid farewell to crabs, another morsel of the sea is about to come into season—the oyster. Most of us are familiar with the classic oyster pairing. KINGFISHERS SEAFOOD BAR & GRILL:
Its Michelada is made with Flying Dog Numero Uno, hot sauce, lime, salt and cayenne.
SKIPPER’S PIER RESTAURANT AN DOCK BAR:
Its Black Pearl is a Bloody Mary made with Tito’s gluten-free vodka and George’s Bloody Mary Mix. This creation is topped with Chesapeake Bay oysters, bacon, olives and celery in an Old Bay-rimmed glass.
LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT AND BAR:
Recommended pairings include the restaurant’s own Bloody Maryland, Sam Adams Summer Ale and Mama’s Little Yella Pils, a small batch craft pilsner by Oskar Blues.
THE PIER OYSTER BAR:
Its version of the Crush, a Maryland specialty. This favorite is made with fresh squeezed juice and premium vodkas. If you’re not into the sweetness, order a Skinny Crush with soda water not tonic and without triple sec. A crisp sauvignon blanc wine also pairs well.
